Kestrel Housing Applications Now Being Accepted
On November 15th, the Boulder County Housing Authority (BCHA) began accepting applications for its newest development, Kestrel, located in Louisville, northwest of the intersection of 95th Street/SH42 and South Boulder Road. Kestrel is made up of 129 townhome-style units within multiplex buildings for individuals and families of all ages, and one 3-story apartment building with 71 units for seniors ages 55 and older. Currently under construction, BCHA anticipates to begin leasing the first townhomes by the end of April 2017 and will continue in monthly phases thereafter, with the senior building expected to be complete by the end of October.
Applications are only accepted electronically through the online portal within Boulder County Connect, which allows residents to create an account to view information about the support they receive, check the status of their case, upload documents electronically, chat with a representative, and more. In addition to offering the ability to complete applications from a home or public computer and even an iPhone, BCHA staff set up assistance sites county-wide on November 15th for residents who did not have access to a computer and/or required help in completing their applications. More than 200 applications were submitted on the first day! Applications will continue to be accepted online, and any applicants who require assistance may call 720.564.2267 or email HOinfo@BoulderCounty.org.
