Leaf Collection from October 16th through November 22nd

Post Date:10/12/2017 4:00 PM

The City is again offering leaf drop off services to residents this fall. While the City does not offer curbside pickups or bagged leaf collections, we do have a central location where you may drop off your leaves.

Please note: Only leaves and grass clippings are accepted at the drop off containers (no trash, branches, or plastic garbage bags). If you collect your leaves in plastic bags, you must empty the leaves from the bags at the drop off area. We appreciate your cooperation!

Alternatives at home: You can use Western Disposal’s compost bins to dispose of leaves. Just toss your leaves into the compost bins and Western will take them away with the rest of your compost. A mulching lawn mower can also be useful. You can add organic material and nutrients to your lawn and avoid the time it takes to collect leaves by mulching them instead.

As a reminder, please do not rake leaves into the street curb and gutters. Doing so may plug storm sewer inlets and cause flooding.

Drop off location: Leaves may be dropped off at the Louisville Sports Complex, 1200 Courtesy Road (the ball field complex off of State Highway 42), starting on October 16th through November 22nd. The site will be open daily, 7:30 am to 3 pm (dates are approximate). Any changes to the schedule will be noted on the City’s web page (http://www.louisvilleco.gov/residents/public-works- /water-wastewater-treatment/leaf-drop-off-compost-pick-up).

If you have any questions, please call 303.335.4750 or check the City's Web page for updates. Thank you for helping make the program a success!
