Learn More about Colorado's First Casual Carpool Program!
Commuting Solutions, in partnership with Waze, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is thrilled to announce the start of Colorado’s first Casual Carpool program, Casual Carpool on US 36!
Casual Carpool on US 36 allows commuters who would normally drive alone to cruise past traffic in the US 36 Express Lanes for free by helping to connect them with two riders headed in the same direction. Drivers can pick-up/drop-off riders at the following locations:
US 36 & Table Mesa Station
US 36 & Church Ranch Station
US 36 & Broomfield Station
Union Station in Denver
Union Station in Denver will serve as a drop-off point in Denver. However, there is no designated parking for drivers at Union Station. There are other parking lots nearby for drivers to use.
For the first three months of the program, Waze Carpool is offering a flat rate of $1 a ride for Casual Carpool on US 36 riders. Once the incentive is over, it will cost riders the federal reimbursement rate of $0.58 a mile. Drivers for the program will always receive the federal reimbursement rate for the mileage they drive.Learn more about Casual Carpool on US 36, find riders traveling in the same direction and start passing the masses during your regular commute by visiting https://commutingsolutions.org/ride-sharing/casual-carpool/.
