Comcast is planning to launch an Advanced Fiber Network project in Louisville beginning in late May 2018. This multi-month engineering and construction project will bring fiber optic infrastructure deeper into Louisville neighborhoods. City-wide in scope, the project involves a combination of construction in the public right-of-way and easements, installation of new and upgraded equipment and changes to the network architecture.

Construction & Notifications

The majority of Comcast's construction work will occur in the public right-of-way and easements. On the limited occasions where Comcast needs to access private property, it will contact residents directly to obtain their approval before initiating any work.

As part of this process, Comcast will provide multiple notifications to residents and businesses in advance of any construction impacting their neighborhood or commercial area. For residents, this includes door hangers, notification letters, direct phone calls and text messages the day of construction. For businesses, Comcast will reach out directly 7-10 days in advance of the work.

When Comcast anticipates a service interruption associated with the network upgrade, it will provide additional notification to both residents and businesses.
