Backyard Chickens

First Friday Art Walk

The Boulder County Agricultural Heritage Center is bringing chickens to the First Friday Art Walk! In the early 1900s, chickens were necessary sources of food and income for Louisville families. Today, chickens are raised in Louisville for hobby, often as part of the local food movement. Come to the Museum during the First Friday Art Walk to learn about past and present practices for raising backyard chickens, their proper feed and care, and different coop designs.

Stop by the Museum to discover hidden and interesting aspects of Louisville history and to tour the historic buildings on the Museum campus at 1001 Main during the First Friday Art Walks!
