Cottage Industries in Louisville

First Friday Art Walk

In an economically poor town like Louisville, families had to earn money however they could. Women in particular could make a little extra by working out of their homes doing laundry, dressmaking, or even tying flies for men to use to go fishing. Come by the Museum during the First Friday Art Walk to discover these and other cottage industries.

Stop by the Museum to discover hidden and interesting aspects of Louisville history and to tour the historic buildings on the Museum campus at 1001 Main during the First Friday Art Walks!
