Get fit in 2020 at the Recreation & Senior Center
Whether you have been a member of the Recreation & Senior Center for a long time, or are just joining us for the first time, we welcome you to the start a new year with us! We are here to help you achieve your wellness goals and regardless if you are looking to exercise or socialize, learn or play, live well or age well, we have something for everybody and can’t wait to see you this year.
Some of the services we offer to help you get fit in 2020 are:
Free Equipment Orientations
Want to work out in the gym but don’t know where to start? Come to one of our free equipment orientations. This brief orientation will familiarize you with how to use the cardio and circuit weight machines and is free with membership or daily admission. If you are still feeling unsure about the machines, or how to get the best full body workout, we encourage women to sign up for our Women on Weights, a group class for women who want to add strength training but may feel overwhelmed by the machines. This class starts on January 7th from 11 am -12 pm and is $50R/$63NR. You will learn how to set up the machines, recognize proper form and other important tools to be successful in your workout program! Sign up >
Personal Training Sessions
Do you have certain goals you want to meet or would you like an exercise program tailored to fit your needs? Consider personalizing your program with the help of one of our certified personal trainers. Having a trainer by your side can provide the encouragement, energy and motivation you need to jump start your routine. They can help you set goals, create a plan to accomplish them, and celebrate the day you reach them. You can arrange for 1-10 sessions with one of our personal trainers. If you’re looking for a way to get back into shape, finding that your stuck in your fitness routine, or need some extra motivation we encourage you to join one of our monthly fitness challenges. The first one to start off the new year is the Dry Triathlon. This event will be held on Friday, January 31st and will consist of a 2000 meter row, 300 bodyweight exercises and a two-mile treadmill run or walk (watch the video below for details). We encourage all fitness levels and ages 14+ to train for and complete the challenge. You can learn more and sign up here. Then join us in February for our Buddy Challenge, March for our March Madness Challenge, and April for our Family Challenge and Big 3 Challenge.
Fitness Testing Packages
Wherever you are in your fitness journey it is important to know your fitness baselines in order to keep progressing. Choose from a body competition or fitness assessment to help you along in your fitness journey. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get appointment information.
We have over 120 group fitness classes per week that are included with your membership or daily fee.
