Soil Sampling for Southern Water Supply Pipeline Expansion Project
As part of Louisville’s Southern Water Supply Pipeline Expansion Project, there will be a drill rig and support vehicles accessing the existing utility easements in the City’s North, Bullhead Gulch, and Hecla Lake Open Space areas from January 16th-February 20th. During this geotechnical investigation the City’s contractor will be drilling 20 holes to gather soil samples in various locations between the Sid Copeland Louisville Water Treatment Plant and Hecla Lake. The soil testing is for the construction of a raw water pipeline that will secure future water supply deliveries for the entire City and not related to oil and gas in any way.
