SCAM ALERT - Beware of fraudulent emails and fee requests for permits

Post Date:05/29/2025 9:10 PM

The City is aware of a scam involving our customers receiving emails demanding payment for permit fees. If you receive any suspicious emails or phone calls, please do not respond or click on any links in the email or provide any information.

A person pretending to be a Louisville city employee for the Community Development department has been contacting some of our customers who have active permits or are in the process of getting permits.

Here's what you need to know:

  • The City will NEVER request wire transfers from our customers.
  • City employees use email addresses ending in LouisvilleCO.gov to communicate with customers. We have received reports that a scammer is using the email address planning.louisvilleco@usa.com.
  • The emails being sent to customers are very convincing. If you are unsure about the legitimacy of a communication you are receiving from the city, please contact us directly at Info@LouisvilleCO.gov or by calling (303) 666-6565.
