January 17th Letter to Residents

The City of Louisville was required to send notice to water customers regarding a Backflow and Cross Connection Control Program Violation, which took place in 2016 through 2018. The violation was related to records of inspection.

As the letter mentions, no action is required from water customers. Your tap water meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements. In 2019, all of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's requirements were met and the City was in compliance.

The Public Works Department would like to assure residents that water quality testing performed during this period met all quality standards and no adverse health effects were identified. A new recordkeeping procedure has been implemented to ensure inspection reports are securely stores in order to avoid documentation violations in the future.

More information on the Cross Connection Control Program, established in 2005, is available on our website.

Your water in 2016-2018

In the 2016-2018 period, Louisville's drinking water was safe to drink. Read the 2018 Water Quality Report for more details.

During the 2016-2018 period, the storage reservoirs and their sources were routinely monitored for contaminants that could create a health risk or interfere with the water treatment process.

The City of Louisville remains committed to providing clean, safe drinking water.
