The Museum is open from 6-8 PM during downtown Louisville's First Friday Art Walks, with a fun different historic topic to explore each time. Many of our Art Walk visitors are repeat visitors who come by to see what new topic we’re highlighting that night. Volunteers are available to give tours of all three buildings on the Museum campus.

Museum staff or invited guest speakers offer formal presentations or lead discussions on historic topics related to local Louisville history or Louisville's role in the context of broader historical themes and events. These special events are usually held in the first floor meeting room at the Louisville Public Library on weekday evenings, and Brown Bag presentations are usually on the first Thursday of each month from 12-1 PM.

Museum staff or volunteers lead small group walking tours of Louisville highlighting different aspects of Louisville history. Tours are offered from May - September of each year and are usually held on Saturday mornings from 9-10 AM.

The Louisville Historical Museum currently features permanent exhibits in its three historic buildings on Louisville's early history and growth from 1878 - 1955.

Jacoe Store
The main building, historically known as the Jacoe Store, features a variety of artifacts and historic photographs that reflect the settlement and industry of Louisville, such as coal mining artifacts and the 1920s-era painted theatre curtain from the Rex Theatre on Main Street.

Tomeo House
The Tomeo House is interpreted as a coal miner’s house, with a kitchen, bedroom, and sitting room. It was the home of two of Louisville's many Italian families: the Tomeo family, then the Rossi family.

Jordinelli House
The Jordinelli House contains a six-foot by six-foot replica of original downtown Louisville, which was made by Louisville native, Dick Del Pizzo.
