What is Reading Buddies?

Reading Buddies pairs teenage volunteers in grades 7-12 with kindergarten to 2nd grade students.

The Buddies meet for an hour every week of the session.  They read together then do fun reading-related activities.

Reading Buddies helps boost young readers' skills and gets kids excited about reading and the library.  It is not a tutoring service.

Who is in charge of the Reading Buddies Program?

Under the supervision of the Library's Children's Services staff, the Reading Buddies program is organized and run completely by volunteers for the Library.

How do I apply?

Big Buddies must be in grades 7-12.

Little Buddies must be in grades K-2.
