During the Safer-at-Home order the Louisville Public Library will continue to be closed to the public. Curbside Holds Pick-Up is available by appointment and drop-in, Wednesday – Friday 11 am to 6:15 pm and on Sunday’s from 1 to 5 pm. The drive-up book drop, in the Via Artista alley on the west side of the building, will be open from 1 pm Sunday through 6 pm Friday. SciGirls Coding Club

All 5th-8th grade girls are invited to join our SciGirls Coding Club after-school program at the Louisville Public Library! The SciGirls Coding Club will introduce participants to the fascinating world of computer science and many women who are working within the field, following their passions. As we progress through our weekly Club meetings, we’ll develop computational thinking skills and learn how to code using Micro:bit and accompanying sensors, buttons, motors and more. Using our developing skills, we’ll design and code our own animations, create a high-tech night light, play digital hide and seek, program radio wristbands that can communicate with one another and more.


When the SciGirls Coding Club concludes, participants will recognize the need to challenge gender stereotypes, feel empowered to engage in STEM fields now and in the future, and be encouraged to always reach for their dreams!


No previous coding experience is required. All levels of experience welcome.
