Republic Calendar of service arriving August 2019 

Republic Services will begin waste collection in Louisville on September 3, 2019. Collection days are Tuesday through Friday. 

For all Louisville residents participating in the city-wide solid waste program, a calendar of service schedules and other information will arrive in the mail from Republic Services in August. This mailing will include details of the Western Disposal cart collection schedule.

Your collection day will be included in the August mailing. 

If you do not receive a mailing by August 28, please contact Louisville’s Republic Customer Service line at 303-286-5400.

You can change your Republic cart size starting in October 2019.

Western Disposal's last service day is Thursday, August 29, 2019. 

The following information relates to Western Disposal's waste collection service. Refer to the Republic's Louisville website for details of the waste collection service, which begins September 3, 2019.

REMINDER:
All items must fit in your trash and compost cans with the lid shut or Western Disposal will not pick up your can.This is a pay-as-you-throw system and you are paying for service based on the size of your container. If you cannot fit your trash or composting in the container you have you can the following options:

  • You may put out additional bags with your cart. There is an additional cost per bag for pick up. You will need to buy the required sticker and affix it to the bag so that the collection worker knows to pick up the bag. Stickers are available at City Hall (749 Main Street) and the Recreation Center (900 West Via Appia). Compostable bags are available for purchase at Home Depot and Lowe's.
  • You are eligible for a free quarterly pickup of a large or bulky item on your regular collection day. To have a large or bulky item picked up, you will call Western’s Customer Service Department (303.444.2037) and let them know what you would like to have picked up, and they will let you know if any charges may apply and discuss payment options.
  • Large and bulky items include furniture, appliances, small equipment, lawnmowers, barbeque grills, and mattresses. Items must be one single item, not a pile of branches or a pile of construction debris, to qualify for this service. Freon-containing appliances are not included as a free item, but can be collected for a fee.

Collection services:

  • Trash is collected weekly on Thursdays;
  • “Single-stream” recycling is included in the service. Recyclables will be collected bi-weekly, also on Thursdays;
  • Compostables are also part of this service. Compostables will be collected bi-weekly, also on Thursdays, alternating with recyclables;

Additional items:

To have a large or bulky item picked up, please call Western’s Customer Service Department, give them your account number (printed on your water/refuse bill), and let them know what you would like to have picked up. They will let you know if any charges may apply. You will be asked to provide a credit card number if charges apply and will be billed directly to your credit card.
