  AMERICAN RED CROSS Lifeguard training classes | Ages 15+

This 3 day American Red Cross blended learning class includes Lifeguarding CPR (Professional Rescuer) and First Aid.

You must complete the online portion, attend every class, and pass all skills and written tests to receive Red Cross Certification. Classes held on Weekends and BVSD no school days. A pretest is required to participate in any lifeguard training class. interviews for the lifeguard position conducted after successful completion of the pretest.

Candidates must:

  1. Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
  2. Successfully complete the pre-course swimming skills test:
    1. 150 meter swim of freestyle and/or breaststroke
    2. 2-minute tread with no hands
    3. 50 meter swim
    4. 1:40 timed brick retrieval test. Starting in shallow end, the candidate will swim 15 meters into the deep end, submerge, retrieve a 10lb brick off the pool floor, surface, swim the brick back to start holding it with both hands and kicking on back. The candidate cannot touch the pool floor while kicking with the brick
