Why It Matters
Switching to clean energy sources like wind and solar helps Louisville use less fossil fuels. It also cuts pollution and makes our local energy system stronger and more reliable.
By leading with clean energy, Louisville is helping to create a cleaner future and support Colorado’s growing renewable energy jobs and businesses.
What We're Doing
Since March 2020, 100% of Louisville’s municipal electricity has come from clean energy sources. Our other efforts include:
- Xcel Energy Renewable Connect: Louisville is supporting the local renewable energy economy by subscribing to Xcel Energy’s Renewable Connect program.
- Community solar gardens: We participate in solar gardens in Boulder and Weld Counties, which includes the state’s largest community solar project.
- Energy Future Collaboration Partnership: Louisville works with Xcel Energy to expand renewable energy development across sectors and provide customers with clean energy choices.
Get Involved
You can help us accelerate the clean energy transition by:
- Participating in group-buy solar: Explore local community solar options like Switch Together to access clean power.
- Subscribing to renewable energy programs: Sign up for Xcel Energy’s RenewableConnect* programs.
- Going solar at work: Take advantage of Boulder County and state incentives for rooftop solar installations.
