Due to COVID-19 concerns, City facilities are closed.

The April 7 court date has been rescheduled for May 26, 9:30 am

The April 21 court date has been rescheduled for June, 2, 9:30 am.

Any upcoming court appearance can be rescheduled by calling 303.335.4653. Please leave a detailed message with your name, court date, and a phone number at which you can be reached.

While City facilities are closed the Court will not be taking payments. All payment deadlines will be extended to accommodate the closures.

No one penalties will be assessed for a missing a court date or a payment while the court is closed.

All ISAE and NCTI can be taken on-line. 

The Municipal Court oversees all aspects of the Louisville judicial process.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

COURT DATE CHANGE:

Q. Can I change my court date?
A. Yes. You are allowed 1 continuance on your first appearance only. You must call the court at least 5 days prior to the court date indicated on your summons.

PAYMENTS:

Q. What types of payment are accepted by the Court?
A. The court accepts cash, check, credit/debit cards, money orders and cashier’s checks. Please make checks payable to the Louisville Municipal Court.

Q. Can I pay online with a credit card?
A. Not at this time. The Court is not set up to receive payments online. However, you may call the Court and pay with a credit/debit card over the phone.

NON-MANDATORY SUMMONSES:

Q. If my summons is marked “You may pay the fine of the penalty assessment” when is the payment due?
A. If your ticket is marked “You may pay the fine of the penalty assessment “ your payment is due, in full, at least 14 days prior to the court date indicated on your summons. Non-mandatory traffic citations paid prior to the Court date will receive the below point reductions:

MANDATORY COURT APPEARANCES: 

 

Q. What if my summons is marked “Mandatory Court Appearance?"
A. If your summons is marked “Mandatory Court Appearance” you must appear at the Louisville Municipal Court at the date and time indicated on your summons. Most cases are resolved the same day.

Q. Will I still be entitled to a possible point reduction or plea bargain?
A. Yes. If you wish to speak to the Prosecuting Attorney reference a possible point reduction or plea bargain indicate that to the Judge when your case is called.

Q. Can I talk to the Prosecutor prior to my court date?
A. No. The Prosecutor is only here on Court Dates.

Q. How long will I be at the Court on my court date?
A. Allow for 2 – 3 hours. All cases are there for arraignments at 9:00 AM. It is first come, first served.
