City Construction Project MapConstruction Update 11 20 2019

To view the City Construction Project Map, click here. This construction schedule is tentative and subject to change due to construction coordination, unknown site conditions, and weather.

We would like to thank everyone for your patience and understanding during construction and remind everyone to exercise caution when driving, biking, or walking through a construction zone.

SH42 Underpass Project

Edge Contracting will continue construction through Spring of 2020.  The project will create a pedestrian underpass between Hecla Drive and Summit View Drive underneath SH42.  Westerly lane shift is now in place to accommodate work on the east side of SH42.  Sidewalk and trail sidewalk work has begun.

SH42 and Short Street Project

Goodland Construction was awarded the contract. Work includes storm sewer, curb and walk along the west side of State Highway 42 (SH42) and an extension of Short Street on the East side.  The Contractor is preparing the road for paving and will continue work on Short Street exension.  Work will continue on the east side of SH42 to construct the Short Street Extension.

Old S. 96th Street Culvert Repair and Maintenance

This project will repair an existing culvert located south of the North Metro Fire Rescue Station 67.  This road will be temporarily closed except for maintenance access while work is being planned and completed.

2020 Concrete Replacement Project including Pine Street

The project was awarded to Silva Construction.  Work is scheduled to begin the first week of April and continue into August. Work on Pine Street will begin the week of April 6, 2020.

The City is working with the Contractor to implement best practices and following the lead of state and federal recommendations. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, most communication with City residents will take place through online communications. There may be some direct communications with affected property owners and residents who may be directly impacted by the work such as sidewalk reconstruction across the driveways. The City is working to have concrete work begin in front of schools and businesses that are currently not open to the public in the hopes that when they return to normal business operations the work will be complete. Because the timing of this is unknown, there may be some disruptions once the COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease up.

Visit Investing in Pine Street for more details about the improvements to Pine Street.

More detail on construction can be found in the notice, which was mailed to residents near one or more concrete and/or asphalt replacement projects.
