Classes, Camps, Special Events and More!

We invite your toddlers to teens to join in on the fun and learning happening at the Louisville Recreation & Senior Center. Our programs are developmentally appropriate and always focus on each child as an individual to help them grow and learn at their pace.

Classes for Toddlers, Preschoolers and Elementary School Children


 Preschool Program 

 Is your preschooler ready to embark on a road full of fun and learning?  The Louisville Recreation Center offers a state-licensed part-day preschool September to May.

 Summer Day Camp 2019

 For youth in grades K-5th during 2018-2019 school year. Our traditional summer day camp offers arts and crafts, sports and games, weekly field trips and swimming with a great balance of structured and unstructured time.

Twoodles – Ages 2- 3 years old (age 2 by September 30th)

Looking for a class for your toddler that lets them assert their budding independence in a fun, enriching environment while developing their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional skills.? Sign them up for TWOODLES! This toddler class is perfect for children not old enough for preschool yet.  Your toddler will have fun focusing on friends, learning, creating, turn taking and fun in a classroom environment! Take it from a local mom who says "We love this toddler program, enjoyed it for our daughter, and are so happy with how much our son seems to be thriving in a "classroom" experience this year. It is literally the only program that will take kids under 2.5!".

Toddler program. Age 2 by September 30th, offered September through May on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 1 hour per day. Parent/guardian must stay in the facility during class time. Offered each school year.

Creative Explorers, Summer Discoveries & Parent Tot Summer Fun - Toddlers and Preschoolers

Enrichment classes for toddlers and preschoolers. Shorter sessions to accommodate typical summer travel plans. Offered each summer.

In-house Mini-Camps - Elementary Age Children

Art, books, music & science mini-camps for elementary aged children. Offered each summer.

Holiday Classes, Special Events and Activities for Children of All Ages


Tulip Twist - Father & Daughter Dance with a live DJ, crafts & refreshments. Ages 3-8.


Touch-A-Truck - Big trucks, small trucks, dump trucks & rescue trucks! Get up close to a variety of things with wheels and other transportation vehicles.


Letters from Santa- A keepsake letter customized for your little one.


Pancakes for Dinner with Santa - PJ's, pancakes, live music, a visit with Santa and other special treats make this a special evening for all.

Art & Sport Camp - Get messy and have fun in the gym, the best of both worlds! Offered over winter break annually.

LRC is happy to partner with the following contractors to offer youth programs:

Advanced Care CPR - Babysitting training for tweens & teens.

Cheer Central Suns - Cheer, tumbling and Ninja Zone classes for a variety of ages. Classes held at their facility at 1756 Panorama Point in Lafayette. Offered year-round.

CodeSpire - STEM intergration, engineering, robotics, App development and video game design mini-camps. Offered during the summer.

Integral Steps - Biology, art, music, movement, Spanish, Dalcroze, eurhythmics for preschoolers and elementary aged children. Some classes offered off-site.  Offered year-round.

International Martial Arts Association - Karate for ages 6 through adult. Offered year-round.

Let's Get Cooking - Cooking classes for youth and birthday party packages.

Little Medical School - Medial and veterinarian based classes for preschoolers and elementary aged children.

Mad Science - Sparking imaginative learning through hands-on science experiences.

Purple Piano - Yoga for children.

Play-Well - Kids dive into classes and exercise their innate gift for building. They come away understanding fundamental principles of engineering and physics.

The Signing Tree - American Sign Language for children and caregivers.

Young Rembrandts - Step-by-step drawing classes for preschool through elementary aged children. Offered year-round.

Teen Programs

City of Louisville's Youth Advisory Board

Do you want to represent the youth of Louisville? Apply to be on the City of Louisville's Youth Advisory Board. Applications are due early September. Applicants must be in 6-12th grade, be a Louisville Resident and serve a two year term. Find out more on the YAB webpage.

CIT - Counselor In Training with Summer Day Camp at the Louisville Recreation Center, Ages 15-16.

Build your experience working with youth as a counselor in training. $85 fee if accepted into the program. 8 hours per week. Applications will be accepted in the spring.



Teen Volunteer Program, Ages 12-14.

Please read before registering for youth activities:
The Louisville Recreation Center provides a variety of youth programs designed to stimulate your child's social, physical, and cognitive skills. Programs are designed with specific age groups in mind to provide the best in program quality. Please make certain your child is in the specified age required for a program by the first day of class. Children will be canceled from a class roster if they do not meet age requirements. 

Refund Policy: The following charge will be assessed for class cancellations: Classes canceled for low enrollment will be given a full refund or credit. No refunds or credits for a cancellation made less than 7 days before the start of the class. $5.00 service charge per class for check refunds $5.00 service charge per class for household credits.
