Find the Pomodoro

An Art Scavenger Hunt in Louisville - Starting June 5

Tomatoes (that’s “pomodoro” in Italian) have been steeped in an age-old controversy – are they fruits or are they vegetables? – but they are also famously the key ingredient in so many of our favorite tasty treats. Whether it’s pizza, pasta, lasagna, or just a homemade salad, tomatoes steal the show. In Louisville, we know this better than anyone thanks to the historical influence of our Italian-American community and the delicious culinary traditions they have kept alive all these years.

This summer of 2026 – the 150th anniversary of Colorado’s statehood – The City of Louisville would like to pay homage to the tomato and all the creativity and appetite it inspires!

Embark on a juicy adventure to find eight hidden tomato-inspired pieces of art throughout Louisville! Discover Louisville while learning about the importance of the tomato in our City’s history and enjoying the talent of eight local artists. For those who find all eight tomatoes… a special prize will be waiting for you to collect at the Louisville Public Library.
