Home Rule Charter
The Home Rule Charter is the document under which the City of Louisville operates. The charter was adopted by Louisville residents as follows:
- Approved and adopted by the Home Rule Charter commission on August 20,2001
- Submitted to the City Council on August 21, 2001
- Approved by the registered electors on November 6, 2001
- Amendments approved by the registered electors on November 2, 2004
- Amendments approved by the registered electors on November 3, 2009
