Get a food truck permit
All food trucks, vending carts, and other mobile food retail establishments are subject to the regulations established in Section 17.16.310 of the Louisville Municipal Code.
Food truck operators must apply for a City of Louisville Food Truck permit from the Planning Department if you serve from a permanent location on a City street or private property in Louisville. Please contact the Planning Department to check if you need a permit at Planning@LouisvilleCO.gov or 303-335-4584.
All food truck operators, whether or not a food truck permit is required, must have the following:
- Colorado Retail Food Establishment License (Boulder County)
- Colorado Dept of Revenue Tax License
- Inspection by Louisville Fire Protection District
Note: If the vendor has an inspection report issued by a member jurisdiction in the Fire Marshal's Association of Colorado, dated within 12 months of the event and indicating that they passed with no deficiencies open, then they do not need a separate inspection by LFPD. - City of Louisville Sales & Use Tax License
All food trucks operating as part of a city-permitted special event, a private catered event, a city permitted block party, or as ice cream vendors must be able to show proof of the above items.
View this map for zoning information and as a measuring tool to determine the location from restaurants. The county's property search map contains a buffer feature.
