What to do on your court date
When is my court date?
- Your court date will appear on your summons / ticket.
- Court is usually held the second Tuesday of each month
- If your court date is blank or you have lost your summons / ticket, please reach out to the Court at 303.335.4652
Can I change my court date?
Yes.
- You are allowed 1 continuance on your first appearance only.
- You must call the court at least 5 business days prior to the court date on your summons / ticket to request a continuance.
Additional continuances require a written Motion from the defendant to the Judge and must be received by the Court at least 5 business days prior to the Court date.
How long will I be at Court on my court date?
Please allow for 2 - 3 hours as it is first come, first served.
Can I attend my court session remotely?
Remote sessions are only available to defendants who's primary residence is outside the state of Colorado and with approval of the Prosecuting Attorney.
Will I have to pass through security?
Yes, you will have to pass through a metal detector and all bags are subject to search.
How should I behave during my court date?
- Wear appropriate attire. Sweatshirts, gym clothes, graphic t-shirts, team jerseys and pajamas are not appropriate attire.
- Cell phones and other technology devices should be powered off during court.
- Beverages, food (including gum), tobacco and vaping products are not allowed in the courtroom.
Can I speak to the prosecutor or judge prior to my court date?
No.
The prosecutor and the judge are only available on court dates.
Are translation / interpreter services available?
Yes.
Translation services can be provided on court dates. Please contact the court administrator at least 5 business days prior to your court date to arrange translation services. If you have not arranged for translation services, and they are not available on your court date, your case may be continued to the next court date.

Si. Los servicios de interpretación se ofrecen durante las fechas que la corte esta en sesión. Por favor contacte al administrador de la corte 5 días antes de su audiencia para solicitar un intérpreter. Si usted no solicita los servicios de interpretación a tiempo y no hay un intérpreter disponible el dia de su audiencia, su caso será pospuesto hasta la siguiente sesión de la corte.
