Labor Day Weekend

2026 marks the 90th annual Labor Day celebration, Louisville's biggest community event of the year. Come together with friends and neighbors for a weekend celebrating Louisville's community spirit.

Below you will find details about the Senior Dinner, Children's Pet Parade, Labor Day Parade, and Fall Festival.

Please note: Have a question about the fine arts show? Please contact the Louisville Art Association. The art show is not a City event.

Senior Dinner

When: 5 to 7 p.m. on September 4, 2026
Where: Steinbaugh Pavilion

We always start our Labor Day Weekend with one of our dearest Louisville traditions, the Senior Dinner. This dinner honors Louisville's seniors, who give so much all year to make Louisville a special place to live and work.

The evening includes:

  • Live music
  • Door prizes
  • A chicken dinner with all the trimmings

This event is free for Louisville residents ages 60 and older. You do not need to sign up in advance.

Want to help out? If you would like to volunteer to serve at the Senior Dinner, please contact the Cultural Services team.

Children's Pet Parade

When: 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026
Where: Downtown Louisville

Brush your dog, bathe your cat, and polish your pet rock. The Children's Pet Parade is coming!

Over the years we have seen stuffed animals, dogs, cats, and farm friends (including a llama). Caged pets with fins, scales, or feathers can ride in a wagon if you are creative and careful.

The parade is open to children age 12 and younger. The parade runs south on Main Street, from South Street to Spruce Street (just south of City Hall).

Louisville's annual Labor Day Parade is our biggest event of the year, and the only Labor Day Parade in Boulder County. On this magical morning, we come together to celebrate the contributions of Labor and all the other groups that make our community unique.

You will see marching bands, dance troupes, local labor unions, equestrians (horse riders), and much more. Come join the fun!

The parade begins at the corner of E. Lafayette and Main St. and ends at the intersection of Rex St. and Main St.
