Bird City Colorado
In 2025, the City of Louisville was designated a Bird City Colorado community by Environment for the Americas. Louisville is the seventh city in Colorado to earn this recognition.
This designation recognizes Louisvilleās work to protect bird habitat, support wildlife, and care for natural areas. Bird City Colorado helps communities take action for birds by improving habitat, reducing threats, and offering education and volunteer opportunities.
Louisville earned this designation through work such as habitat restoration, native plantings, wildlife programs, community science, and local partnerships. These efforts help support birds, pollinators, and the healthy open spaces they need to thrive.
