Ways to register to vote or update your registration
Qualified residents may register to vote up to and including Election Day.
To get a ballot in the mail, the Boulder County Clerk & Recorder’s Office must receive your voter registration at least 8 days before the election. If you register after this time, you must visit a Vote Center in person to vote.
- Online
You can register to vote or update your information here using your Colorado driver’s license, Colorado State ID, or the last four digits of your Social Security number. The site is available in English and Español.
- Email, mail, or fax
You can register to vote or update your registration by filling out a paper form (in English or Español) and sending it to the Boulder County elections office by email, mail, or fax. Click here for instructions on how to complete the form.
Registration/updates will take effect as of the postmark date on the form. (If the postmark is not legible, the effective date is the date received by the office.)
- In person
You can register to vote or update your registration any time of year at any of the three Boulder County Clerk & Recorder offices. In-person services may be limited.
During election periods, eligible residents can also register to vote at any vote center.
