Annual budget process
- Every Spring, Louisville's annual budget process begins. Department Directors submit their initial funding requests, which align with City Council's strategic priorities.
- In September and October, the proposed Budget is presented to City Council and residents.
- In November, the annual budget is adopted by Ordinance.
The process is led by the City Manager's Office, Finance Department and Department Directors.

Budget reports
The City of Louisville’s budget is adopted annually and serves as the foundation for the City's financial planning. The level of budgetary control is established at the fund level.
City Council may approve supplemental appropriations to the budget throughout the year.

Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is the City’s yearly financial report. It shows how the City received, spent, and managed public funds.

Financial policies
The City of Louisville uses financial policies to guide how public money is managed. These policies help the City provide services in a responsible and efficient way.
